Web3 Brings East and West Together to Explore Asia's Unique Development Path

Brussels, July 9, 2024 - The Asia Dawn: Unlocking Web3's Potential in the East event hosted by SNZ, EVG & Hashkey, attracted more than 100 guests and successfully brought together Web3 experts from Asia and the West. The event aimed to bridge the gap between the Western and Asia's burgeoning Web3 ecosystems and to explore the immense potential of Web3 in the East.

The global landscape of Web3 innovation is accelerating eastward. Asia is rapidly emerging as a hotbed for blockchain development, boasting a vibrant developer community, a surge in mobile-first crypto adoption, and a fertile ground for groundbreaking projects.

The event began with opening remarks from Jerome de Tychey, president of Ethereum Franceand Paula KANT, head of the Brussels office at HK Invest FinTech, who provided valuable insights into the events’ themes.

A distinguished panel, moderated by Kyle Ellicott of Stacks, discussed "Why Web3 BUILD in Asia".  The panelists included Diego Oliva, CEO of the Starknet Foundation, Sheth Sanket, VP of Global Revenue and Partnerships at Chainlink, André Geest, Head of Governance at Safe, Ron Bodkin, Founder and CEO of ChainML, and Victor Muñoz, Head of Developer Relations at Metis. The panelists engaged in a thought-provoking discussion around the shifting narrative and on-the-ground activity between the East and West in the Web3. They explored the unique opportunities that could emerge in Asia as the Web3 ecosystem continues to evolve globally.

In the "How to BUILD Web3 in Asia" panel, moderated by Arnav Pagidyala, Investor at HashKey Capital, including Allen Ng, Co-founder & CEO of EVG, Leona Hioki, Co-founder of Intmax, Arjun Arora, COO of Orderly, and Peet Chen, Founder and CEO of Trusta Labs, explored key factors for building successful Web3 initiatives in Asia and the opportunities for Western and Asian Web3 builders to collaborate and construct a more cohesive global Web3 ecosystem.

The Asia Dawn: Unlocking Web3's Potential in the East event underscored the growing importance of Asia in the global Web3 landscape and the need for stronger cross-regional cooperation and knowledge-sharing to unlock the full potential of this transformative technology.
